Duties
- Operate and maintain Rogers Pass water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant
- Operate and maintain small, seasonal water systems
- Maintenance of water intakes, valves, wells, compressors, UV system, pumps, and filtration systems
- Collection and recording of water/wastewater samples, chlorine residuals, flow readings, turbidity, etc.
- Use of software (SCADA), spreadsheets, and word processing

Intent of the process The immediate need is to fill a temporary full‑time position of one year. This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in same or other parts of the country.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Completion of secondary school diploma according to provincial standards.
Class 5 driver’s license.
Level 1 EOCP Certificate for water treatment, or provincial equivalent. Preference may be given to those with a higher level certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, or Water Distribution.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the operation of a water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant including sampling, analysis, and system adjustment.
- Experience performing preventative, corrective and general maintenance on plant mechanical equipment such as pumping systems, chemical feeders, auxiliary equipment, measuring and control systems, and buildings.
- Experience with computerized industrial control systems such as SCADA and other software such as email, Word, and Excel. Preference may be given to candidates possessing experience in both water treatment and wastewater treatment plants.
