As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. This includes planning, design, and commissioning of the following:
- Building HVAC system(s)
- Building plumbing system(s)
- Building fire protection system(s)
- Building whole building energy modeling
- Building sustainability requirements reporting
Additional responsibilities include coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers, following QA/QC plans, and periodic travel to project sites.
Abilities and Attributes- Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles
- Experience using BIM design software to produce construction drawings
- Use Microsoft Excel-based calculation tools for design calculations
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Strong time management and product quality focus
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
- Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans
- Commit to continuing education and learning based on project needs and overall team needs
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience.
- Knowledge base of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program.
- Experience with AIA Master Spec.
