Project Surveyor

ResponsibilitiesThe Project Surveyor will perform vertical and horizontal control surveys, photogrammetry surveys, survey maps, 3D scanning models, plats and legal descriptions, and create deliverables using Trimble GPS, total stations, digital levels, robotic equipment, 3‑D scanning, SLAM equipment, and UAS LiDAR and photogrammetry systems. They will also assist with processing field crew data, document reproduction for acquisitions, and quantity computations under guidance and supervision.
Additionally, they will provide CAD support for all Garver Survey projects and collaborate with design engineers, professional land surveyors, technicians, and project managers in a dynamic work environment.
- Regularly stand and/or walk while holding tools or objects in the field.
- Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- 2+ years of survey experience and/or an AS or BS degree focused on Survey Sciences.
- Knowledge of Survey principles and practices.
- Willingness to work alone or with an experienced surveyor.
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- PLS licensure.
- Experience with various DOT standards.
- Civil 3D and/or Open Roads experience.
- Transportation/Roadway engineering plan production experience.
- Experience working with Engineering staff and maintaining plan production standards.
- Proficiency with Trimble equipment and software.
- Experience with UAS surveys and workflows.
- Experience extracting LiDAR data.
- Open to more experienced candidates.
