Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Substation Engineer who will be responsible for the design and procurement for substation projects. May serve as a technical specialist for substation projects. This position will work on projects directly associated with First Energy, one of ISG’s trusted and longstanding client partners.

- Electrical Substation Misoperated Line Terminal Improvements
- FAC-008 Facility Rating Projects
- Serve as Project Engineer on routine to complex, single-discipline projects and multi-discipline projects.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines.
- Interface with clients and vendors.
- Create One Line Diagram, Three‑line Diagrams, AC and DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and Protection & Control Diagrams for High Voltage Substations.
- Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and with external clients and design professionals.
- Check progress of work and alert the Project Manager to needed changes to scope or services.
- Perform necessary field measurements independently.
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes or client standards is required.
- Promote use of and participate in the development of company design and production standards.
- Assume responsibility for engineering within his/her discipline for routine projects.
- Perform and may direct construction support/management on routine and simple projects.
- May direct construction observation of others on simple projects.
- Assist drafting and design staff as a resource for design questions.
- Manage and coordinate drafters and designers in drafting required drawings for substation projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree required.
- 3+ years of previous consulting or substation engineering/design experience required.
- EIT certification preferred.
- May be working towards PE License certification.
