Electrical Engineering Intern
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Rogers, AR. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working alongside experienced engineers and consultants. This paid internship offers hands-on project experience in a mentored setting.
You'll support project documentation, multidisciplinary coordination, and periodic job site observations while collaborating across disciplines and working within project budgets and client expectations. The team supports general MEP, building systems, and institutional work, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP
2050 and AIA
2030.
- Assist with electrical design tasks for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
- Assist with researching commercially available equipment and related resources.
- Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
- Assist with coordinating design and schedule needs with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring design progress.
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy.
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
- Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement.
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Rogers' visible work is centered on office and mixed-use/corporate buildings with MEP scope, plus a distillery project with fire protection. That points to a team strong in commercial building systems, energy-efficient design, and integrated MEP delivery.
