As a Receptionist, you will:
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and outstanding customer service.
- Answer and direct incoming multi-line phone calls.
- Schedule appointments and help patients navigate their healthcare needs.
- Verify insurance coverage and update electronic health records accurately.
- Collect co-pays, payments, and balance daily cash collections.
- Process patient registration and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Protect confidential patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Assist patients with information about TBCHS services, including insurance enrollment, Sliding Fee Discount Program, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental, transportation assistance, and other available resources.
- Perform appointment reminder calls.
- Assist with medical records, document scanning, filing, and information routing.
- Help maintain office operations by ordering supplies, processing mail, and managing over-the-counter medication inventory.
- Support a positive, collaborative environment while providing exceptional service to every patient.
- Loves helping people and creating positive first impressions.
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Is organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Can multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with care.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of customer service, medical office, reception, or related experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Previous medical office or healthcare experience
- Experience with electronic health records and insurance verification
- Travel:
Occasional travel between TBCHS locations may be required. - Physical Demand:
Light.
