Overview
The EDI Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the company’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems and processes. This role ensures smooth, accurate, and efficient exchange of business documents between the company and its trading partners. The EDI Analyst collaborates closely with internal teams and external customers to implement new connections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with partner requirements.
Responsibilities- EDI Monitoring: Monitor daily EDI transmissions to ensure successful and accurate document exchange (e.g., ,810).
- Resolve: Investigate and resolve EDI errors, transmission failures, and work with SPS Commerce on any mapping issues.
- New EDI Onboarding: Coordinate setup and onboarding of new trading partners, including testing and validation of EDI transactions.
- Internal
Collaboration:
Work with IT, customer service, logistics and finance teams and resolve operational issues that pertain to EDI. - External
Collaboration:
Work closely with external customers, EDI specialists as well as customer service of EDI Partners. - Documentation: Create and maintain detailed EDI documentation, mapping specifications, and communication logs. Knowledge of Microsoft products is a plus.
- Teamwork: Work closely with cross‑functional teams including developers, product managers, and contractors to ensure comprehensive testing and high‑quality results.
- Process Improvement: Support software updates, configuration changes, and integration projects related to ERP and EDI platforms.
- Additional Duties: Provide technical assistance and training to business users and other IT specialists as needed.
- Team Participation: Participate in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
- Simmons Operating Systems Principles: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and the position’s role in supporting these systems.

- Technical
Experience:
2+ years of hands‑on experience working with EDI systems and processes. Familiar with ANSI X12 EDI standards and transaction sets (e.g., ,810). Experience with EDI Platforms such as SPS Commerce, Oracle, and other EDI tools as needed. Knowledge of EDI documents is a plus. - Industry
Experience:
Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred as well as understanding of supply chain and retail distribution. - Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, business administration or related fields (or equivalent EDI Experience) or 4 years related experience.
- Preferred Education: None.
Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Moves about in an office environment and surrounding property daily.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)As required by visiting facility.
