Job Description Summary
The Category Development Analyst supports the National Accounts team by providing analytical support, generating sales insights, and solutions for BBG’s key retailers. The role leads the effort to review and translate shopper and retail data into actionable strategy and tactics, and leverages insights to improve product assortment, placement, promotions, and assists in planning and forecasting for key suppliers.
Job Description Analytics and InsightsWorks with the Business Intelligence team to leverage syndicated and shopper data, performing analysis against strategic priorities and goals, and communicates insights to stakeholders.
Report Development and Customer CommunicationOwns reporting dashboards, scorecards, and structured communications of business results to stakeholders.
Analytical PresentationsBuilds sales stories and high-impact presentations with supporting analytic visuals and engaging flow.
Data ManagementMaintains internal account and product alignment, segmentation, and data accuracy for assigned customers.
Responsibilities- Conduct descriptive and predictive analysis on velocity, price levels, promotional activities, distribution, and consumer trends.
- Collaborate with National Accounts Team and market-level leaders to align analysis efforts.
- Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Support planning, forecasting, and assortment decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, data science, business administration, economics, statistics, computer science, or related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of analytical experience involving report creation and problem solving.
- Advanced PC skills using MS Office, presentation software, and related tools.
- Experience with syndicated data platforms and retail POS systems (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Datassential, Technomic, Target Partners Online, Walmart Retail Link).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer‑first philosophy, and discretion.
- Ability to multi‑task, work independently or in a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment, problem‑solving skills, and ability to convert raw data into actionable information.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, team environment.
- Power BI experience.
- Three years of experience in the liquor industry.
- Market knowledge and category management experience.
Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
Salary and Benefit StatementAnnual salary range: $60,000–$75,000. Eligible for a bonus program; metrics and participation determined annually. Benefits include health care, life insurance, time off, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
