The Recreation Operations Superintendent supports the planning, coordination, and daily operations of recreation facilities, programs, and services, including the Rogers Aquatics Center and Rogers Activity Center. This position oversees staff, maintains high-quality facilities, and ensures a safe, welcoming environment for the community. This role also plays a key part in hosting and managing tournaments and events, helping position Rogers as a destination for youth athletics and community activities.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage team responsible for the supervision and daily operations of the Rogers Aquatics Center, Rogers Activity Center, and other recreation facilities. Oversee facility schedules for internal and external events and ensure proper staffing.
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, including site supervisors, maintenance staff, aquatics staff, concessions staff, and facility attendants. Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluation for assigned staff. Ensure proper staffing levels for all programs and events. Lead the scheduling, maintenance coordination, and operational readiness of aquatic facilities and indoor recreation centers.
Coordinate with Fitness & Business office manager to ensure staff are trained on operational procedures. Coordinate with Fire Department, Police Department, and Facilities management to train staff on safety & security of facility.
Ensure facilities are safe, clean, and prepared for daily use, including leagues and special events. Coordinate with maintenance teams on pool operations, building upkeep, and facility improvements. Oversee food service and admissions processes for multiple facilities. Ensure compliance with city policies, health and safety standards, risk management practices, and regulations associated with aquatics and food service.
Help manage and maintain recreation software systems, registration platforms, and facility scheduling tools. Support department communication through website updates, mobile apps, and social media platforms. Assist with marketing and promotion of programs, events, and tournaments for aquatics and recreation.
Ensure high-quality event and tournament execution, including customer service, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. Work with local partners (Chamber of Commerce, hotels, tourism, and vendors) to support teams and enhance the participant experience.
Provide excellent customer service and respond to public inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and operational planning.
Track attendance, economic impact, and event performance for reporting and future planning.

Responsibilities For Work Of Others:
Supervises a MODERATE SIZE GROUP (8-15) of employees engaged in important, complex operations, consisting of employees in different classifications who perform a wide variety of duties.
Responsibility For Funds, Equipment, Property, Etc.: REGULARLY responsible for funds, building premises, inventory, or other property owned, controlled, or leased by the organization and, in addition, may have temporary custody and responsibility of patron property, which through carelessness, error, loss, theft, misappropriation, or similar action would result in VERY important monetary losses to the organization. The total value for the above would range form $1,000,000 to $10,000,000.
EducationAnd Experience
Education:
Four year college degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, agriculture etc.
Experience General: 6 years related experience and/or training.
Experience Management: 4 years related management experience.
