Food Production Technician II

JOB SUMMARY
The Food Production Technician will comply with Company policies, procedures, and safety standards during the manufacturing process to manufacture food products. The role will be responsible for live animal handling, slaughtering, packing, BRC collection, and sanitation. The Food Production Technician will also provide timely notice and seek the guidance of management to navigate through manufacturing issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for liv e room attendant and sanitation
• Slaughteringroomproceduresthatincludestunning,blood catching,skinning,transferring,operating a brain saw and chiller, gutting, pre-op, euthanizing, foot cutting, trimming, grading, racking, and heart and liver collection.
• Biological research collection (BRC )procedures that include stunning, drawing blood, harvesting raw materials, cervical dislocation, and inspection.
• Packing procedures that include operating a packing saw and cryovac, working the packing line, functioningasheadoftheline,bagging,casing,order packing,cooler/freezer,andcompletingfresh order paperwork.
• Understandandpromotethequalitysystemasapartofthe Company'soverallgoaltowardcontinual improvement through strict adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as actively supporting and upholding the principles and values of the company.
• Comply with Pel-Freez,United States Department of Agriculture (USDA),Food Safetyand Inspection  Service (FSIS), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, food safety standards, general safety, animal welfare, and good manufacturing practices.

Based on the essential duties listed above, this position is considered safety-sensitive and therefore all work must be performed following quality standards and established safety procedures.

EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred
• Previous experience working in food production is preferred
• Back up lead/lead experience preferred
• Computer and paperwork entry
• Microsoft Office experience preferred
