The Infusion Center Coordinator is primarily responsible and accountable for planning and organizing the scheduling process for outpatient infusion. Collaborates with the Outpatient Infusion Supervisor to plan, organize, and implement staff development programs including in-service/continuing education and performance improvement activities. Works independently with delegated authority and responsibility from the Outpatient Infusion Supervisor and Director of Oncology Services. Collaborates with the Infusion Supervisor and Director of Oncology Services in the development and review of quality improvement data in the Outpatient Infusion Department.
Works collaboratively with physicians and infusion co‑workers to promote a proactive, effective, interactive shared governance relationship in the coordination of specialty services.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- IV Certification within 1 year of hire
- Other unit‑specific certifications as required
- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
