The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered care in a Level III NICU, utilizing the nursing process and maintaining professional accountability. They evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality in line with organizational standards.
Role:The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered care in a Level III NICU, utilizing the nursing process and maintaining professional accountability. They evaluate care effectiveness, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality in line with organizational standards.
Responsibilities:Deliver advanced neonatal care for infants as early as 26 weeks gestation, including therapies like hypothermia, high-frequency ventilation, and iNO. Collaborate with teams, evaluate caregiver performance, and ensure adherence to care protocols. Maintain certifications such as NRP and STABLE, and pursue specialty certifications like RNC-NIC.
Qualifications & Skills:Must have a nursing degree (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN), current RN license, and relevant NICU experience. Certifications such as BLS, NRP, ACLS, and other unit-specific credentials may be required. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, and perform duties involving reaching, bending, and kneeling is essential.
Key Duties:Coordinate patient care, support family-centered practices, evaluate care quality, and maintain compliance with standards. The unit operates 24/7 with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3-1:1.
