Facility Systems Technician
The Facility Systems Technician is a highly skilled maintenance professional responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building systems and equipment across Mercy facilities. This role supports small to midsize hospitals, critical access hospitals, and outpatient clinics by ensuring reliable operation of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems. Working with minimal supervision, the technician delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe, compliant, and high‑quality Environment of Care in alignment with Mercy's Mission and standards.

Minimum Qualifications- Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations.
- Mercy Arkansas Hospitals require High Pressure Boiler Operators License administered by Arkansas Dept. of Labor and Licensing where boilers are installed. Incumbents must have license. New hires must obtain licensure within 1 year of employment.
- Class C Tank Operator Training and Certification required for all Mercy locations. Must achieve certification within 90 days of employment.
- EPA Universal Certification as required by 40
CFR, Part 82, Subpart F for all Mercy locations. Must achieve certification within 12 months of employment. - Fire door maintenance training program with certificate of completion. Incumbents must have training. New hires will be required to complete training within 90 days of employment.
- UL fire stop training with certificate of completion. Incumbents must have training. New hires will be required to complete training within 90 days of employment.
Experience:
1 to 3 years commercial experience working with HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
Certification/Registration: EPA approved Universal Certification for handling refrigerants (within 12 months of employment).
Preferred QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School.
Licensure:
Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration. Electrical and/or Plumbing.
Experience:
5 or more years working in a facility maintenance position within a healthcare environment.
- Prefer training in NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance.
- Prefer training in UL standards for fire stopping.
