Summary:
To provide dependable and efficient delivery service for the school district and to perform all necessary tasks in a cooperative and friendly manner. This will include making deliveries on a daily basis of all materials as necessary between schools and other locations as may be required.
- Loading, conveying and delivering goods, materials and/or food items throughout the district in a timely manner
- Ensure goods/products are loaded/shipped in FIFO order to ensure product rotation at all times.
- Count and verify all orders are accurate before leaving the warehouse/kitchen.
- Log transport details, processing order paperwork, and communicate any errors to supervisor.
- Delivers special packages, books, and other school materials as required.
- Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack safely and efficiently to load/unload or move product and/or equipment.
- Good knowledge of traffic laws and regulations relating to operation of a van
- Ability to operate a van safely and efficiently.
- Keep delivery vehicles in good working order by scheduling preventive maintenance; check fuel, oil, and water levels; check vehicle equipment for safe and proper operation; reports any problems to proper authority.
- Keep delivery vehicle clean; wash and vacuum as needed.
- Operate delivery vehicle on an established route; must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Able to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Other duties may be assigned.
Safety- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- High School Diploma or GED and must possess and maintain a valid Arkansas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, codes, blueprints, schematics and written reference material. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONINGABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems involving several variables and in standardized situations. Ability to effectively prioritize related work orders.
