Seat Cover Solutions is a consumer products company based in Rogers, MN. We design and sell semi custom-fit seat covers and vehicle protection products direct to consumers. We're growing fast — 300% year-over-year growth in June, and 80–150% YoY growth every year since 2023, with plans to continue that pace. Our marketing team has mastered the creator flywheel and performance marketing, so demand isn't our constraint.
The nature of our business is balancing that speed of scale against cash and inventory with 3–4 month lead times — and that balance is exactly why this role exists.
You will own the financial engine of this business day-to-day — and get our CEO out of the finances. We need a savvy in-house financial operator to help us manage cash and profitability through rapid scale. We work with an outsourced accounting firm that handles the books, the monthly close, and our financial model; you'll manage that relationship day to day and hold them to a high standard, while owning everything cash-related inside our walls: payables, receivables, wires, budgets, and the daily cash position of a company that is growing fast enough to make cash the whole ballgame.
This is a builder's role. The collections process, the budgeting process, the sales tax process — much of what's described below doesn't exist yet or lives in the founders' heads. You'll create it, own it, and improve it.
It's also our first in-house finance hire, and it's built to grow. For the right person, this role is the on-ramp to Accounting Manager and Controller as we scale.
What You'll Own Cash & Accounts Payable- Run Accounts Payable end-to-end through , and design and manage the AP approval process — you are the last eyes on every transaction.
- Initiate wires for inventory payments (the CEO gives final approval directly with the bank).
- Own the daily cash flow position: update the daily model, communicate any deviation from plan the same day, and keep our cash working while protecting the checking floor.
- Build and run the sales tax filing process.
- Own AR in its entirety: build the collections process, reconcile customer accounts, produce monthly account statements, and run B2B sales rep commission reporting.
- Own the cohesiveness of our supply chain model and financial model — the two engines behind our growth dashboard — driving toward laser accuracy in forecasting.
- Be the central force of communication: pull sales and ad spend numbers from marketing and inventory cash flow numbers from supply chain, the major inputs into the financial model.
- Run a monthly pre-close audit with our accounting firm so the books close on the 15th with zero surprises.
- Manage our outsourced accounting firm's work day to day (the CEO is the escalation point): hold them to the 15th-day close, clean error-free books, and the monthly bank reporting package.
- Run the team budgeting process: departments set budgets from top-line sales numbers, and you lead monthly budget-vs-actual reviews with each department head.
- Audit the financials and hunt down cost-saving opportunities.
- Books closed by the 15th every month with zero errors caught after close.
- AR current: statements out by the 5th, a collections process that actually collects.
- Daily cash flow accurate within 10% variance on a rolling 2 months, with same-day communication of any deviation.
- The CEO fully out of day-to-day finance.
Specific targets will be set together with the CEO in your first 90 days.
What We're Looking For Required- 4+ years of accounting experience with real ownership of AP, AR, and month-end work — short time, dense experience beats long time, narrow experience.
- E-commerce / consumer products background: you understand the cash rhythm of a business that imports inventory from overseas — 3–4 month lead times, PO deposits and balance payments, and leveraging payment terms for cash flow efficiency. (Our outside firm handles the detailed…
