As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication, demonstrating genuine care and contributing to a safe and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services; and solving or escalating patient problems.
  • Completing basic inventory activities (as permitted by law), such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
  • Contributing to a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback; actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; complying with CVS policies to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, recordkeeping, and protection of patient privacy and security.
  • Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
Immunizations (if permissible)
  • Completing additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educating patients about the importance of vaccines and referring vaccination questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Monitoring for, and responding to, adverse reactions; reporting adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
  • Reviewing and collecting patient information, tracking, and documenting for each applicable patient.
  • Monitoring and managing vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including but not limited to age, education, and licensure/certification.
