Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Overtime may be required and will be determined based on internal and external customer needs. As the company expands, there may be opportunities for weekend shifts.
Summary
:
We are seeking a meticulous Quality Inspector to join our team, specializing in the inspection of materials and products throughout the production process. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet rigorous quality standards, particularly in a Job-Shop environment with a focus on welding. A background in welding, as well as experience in CMM programming and fabrication, is highly desirable.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of first-piece, in-process, and final manufactured parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Document inspection results accurately, generating detailed Inspection Reports and maintaining quality records.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials or parts and engage in root cause analysis.
- Perform supplier incoming and first-piece inspections.
- Oversee the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and monitor supplier quality.
- Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications, including MIG, TIG, Spot, and Stud welding techniques.
- Conduct First-Piece and In-Process inspections to ensure compliance with job packets, travelers, and the Workmanship Manual.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and quality from outside services and suppliers.
- Perform final inspections to verify all operations meet job and customer specifications.
- Note any deviations or nonconformities, coordinating with Project Managers and Supervisors to address issues.
- Complete all required documentation for job completion and process scrap and nonconformance items.
- Recommend process improvements and educate operators on safe practices.
- Ensure accurate part counts and maintain inspection fixtures, gauges, and measuring devices.
- Program the CMM using Zeiss Calypso software to measure complex geometries and intricate features.
- Set up and operate the CMM for dimensional inspections, analyzing and interpreting data to ensure specifications are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on the CMM.
