The Position

Job Title - Quality Technician

Position Status - Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt Hourly

Department - Quality

Supervision Received - Quality Supervisor

Schedule - 12‑hour night shifts, 4 On, 4 Off, 6pm‑6am

Location - Rogers, Minnesota

Role Overview

The Quality Technician works with the team to ensure the quality systems are understood and are in place. The duties of a Quality Technician include the daily collection and evaluation of quality data, assessment and processing of manufacturing inspection, development and training of team members on measurement methods, ensuring equipment is calibrated, materials used are conforming, and the processes are set up in accordance with approved manufacturing requirements and inspection of incoming materials.

They are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieves Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives by helping develop the appropriate production/quality data collection process.
  • Collect the data (including nonconformance) and conduct the appropriate analysis to allow for the appropriate continuous improvement strategic plans to be enacted.
  • Help develop quality control plans (QCP) by identifying critical control points and implementing preventive measures or test methods.
  • Identify ways to improve existing processes and systems to improve quality and consistency.
  • Inspect and monitor products at all stages of production.
  • Perform manual and automated quality checks.
  • Accomplish quality assurance human resource objectives by supporting the training of the operations team on the appropriate process quality inspections.
  • Prepare quality documentation (NC) and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including non‑conforming assemblies, process issues, and Supplier / Raw Material issues. Support root cause and corrective actions and validations.
  • Responsible for maintaining or supporting calibration requirements.
  • Develop and perform a review of incoming documents and complete dimensional inspections of incoming and in‑process products using various variable and attribute gauging methods based on QCP and Product Engineer drawings and specifications.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management officer or delegate.
Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED with preference given to individuals with 1‑2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality‑related position or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of inspection methods
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must complete record check and drug screening prior to employment
