POSITION OVERVIEW
As a R&D Chemist your roles and responsibilities will include:
The R&D Chemist will play a key role in developing and optimizing UV curable and flexographic inks and coatings to support both new product innovation and local adaptation of existing technologies. The role is hands-on in the lab, with responsibilities spanning from formulation and testing to scale-up and implementation in production.
This chemist will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, technical service teams, and external customers, acting both as a project leader and technical contributor.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize UV curable inks and coatings to meet customer and regulatory needs.
- Plan and execute lab-scale formulation, testing, and production scale-up activities.
- Act as the technical liaison between R&D, Sales, Technical Services, and Customers.
- Ensure all stakeholders have up-to-date, clear technical documentation.
- Uphold safety culture in lab and production environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate R&D Chemist who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal R&D Chemist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry (required)
- 3–5 years of experience in the ink or coating industry (UV technology preferred)
- Hands-on laboratory experience (academic or industry)
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment
- Project management and cross-functional communication skills
