Shipping and Receiving Clerk
ResponsibilitiesImmediate opening for a FT person so join our shipping and receiving department. Flame offers to eligible employees; medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, paid holidays, PTO and a matching 401k. This position verifies incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. This may include taking pictures of parts and packaging. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Affixes shipping labels on packed containers. Nail covers onto wooden crates, binds containers on to pallets using metal/plastic banding or stretch wrap. Loads and unloads trucks and trailers using a forklift or pallet jack. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Puts appropriate identification labels on incoming product.
Routes items/orders to appropriate departments. Prepares documents for UPS, Federal Express, and other freightliners as needed. Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel of needed repairs. Enters in order information into the computer system to prepare the work order. Is able to print shippers, bill of lading or other related documents. May perform other shop, shipping, or receiving activities as assigned.
JOB DUTIES
- Assists customer coming in to s/r area in a professional efficient manner
- Safely operates all material handling equipment in s/r department.
- Maintains flow of work through the s/r department.
- Involves the Process Engineer, Sales, and Quality Department when needed.
- Inspects parts upon receiving for any damages and notifies customer or appropriate internal personnel
- Verifies weights and counts of all parts/order received and records the quantities and weights on the order form or shipping documents received with the parts.
- Identifies all work being received in with appropriate labels and photos
- Collects COD payments when needed
- May do data entry with regards to receiving or shipping items out.
- Moves work out of the s/r department only after proper paperwork has been generated.

Starting wage range: $20 – $24/hour, 401k match, medical, dental, short-term disability, life insurance, vacation, and holiday pay.
