CROSS Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Food Rescue Driver position to support our growing operations.

This position is a full-time, non-exempt position:

  • 38–40 hours per week
  • $22–$24 per hour
  • Schedule:

    Monday-Friday, 5:45 am - 2:15 pm

Purpose of Position

The purpose of the Food Rescue Driver and Warehouse Associate position is to ensure that food products are safely collected, inventoried, and moved in and out of the warehouse stock in an efficient manner while maintaining positive relationships with Retail Rescue Partners and volunteers.

Primary Accountabilities Food Rescue Driver
  • Daily route driver using the 26” refrigerated box truck picking up food from the food rescue partners and delivering it back to CROSS Services to be sorted and distributed.
  • Keep accurate records of routes and temperatures of perishable foods.
  • Keep accurate records of weights of foods upon delivery.
  • Maintain positive relationships with food rescue partners.
  • Assist in management of Logistics of Mobile Pantry program.
  • Management of collection and delivery logistics of organic recycling and communicating with the Facility Operations Manager as needed.
  • Moving and stocking food in the food shelf alongside the volunteers providing support and training.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, complying with all federal, state, and local laws.
Other
  • Drive the truck to support CROSS Services at community events as needed.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Lead and execute special drop off and pick up requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • The Food Rescue Driver must be a motivated self-starter who will take ownership of this position, get things done and solve problems.
  • Enjoy hands-on work as well as customer service and working with a diverse volunteer work force.
  • CROSS Services will provide forklift, Ballymore and electric pallet jack training.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook calendars and email communication.
  • Current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, MNDOT Health card, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to our mission of reducing food waste and addressing hunger in the community.
Preferred
  • Truck driving. forklift and pallet jack experience
  • Logistics training
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee will need to be able to articulate, hear and be heard across phone lines.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle with MnDot physical card required.
