Position Summary
The Upholstery Technician is responsible for the repair, restoration, and fabrication of upholstered furniture and fixtures, ensuring high‑quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety and design standards. The role involves working with a variety of materials including fabric, leather, vinyl, and foam to upholster chairs, booths, benches, and other furnishings used throughout the property. Will also need to perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
EssentialFunctions
- Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Inspect and assess furniture or other items to determine the extent of repairs or restoration needed with the assistance of the Operations Teams.
- Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property's operations.
- Repair and restore furniture, including chairs, sofas, benches, d‑rings, and other upholstered items.
- Attach fabric or material covers to furniture frames and chairs.
- Measure and cut fabric, leather, vinyl, or other covering materials according to patterns or specifications.
- Sew, fit, and attach new coverings using a variety of techniques such as stapling, tacking, and gluing.
- Replace and repair internal structures, springs, webbing, and padding as needed.
- Rebuild or replace damaged furniture components, such as back rests, seats, support braces, and pistons.
- Use hand, power, and air tools to complete upholstery projects.
- Must have knowledge of MSDS booklet location for your area.
- Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and equipment and tools.
- Maintain all tools, equipment, and department storage areas.
- Maintain adequate stock of items to ensure timely response to everyday items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
