Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at Missouri S&T is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. En-Chih Liu's research group. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced research projects focused on organic synthesis, asymmetric catalysis, organoselenium chemistry, and electrochemistry.

Key Responsibilities:

* The candidate will design, execute, and optimize synthetic organic chemistry reactions, with a specific focus on electrochemical synthesis and catalysis

* Responsibilities include purifying and characterizing reaction products using standard laboratory instrumentation (such as NMR, MS, and HPLC), documenting experimental procedures, and maintaining precise laboratory records

* The fellow will also assist in writing scientific manuscripts, progress reports, and research grant proposals, while helping to mentor graduate and undergraduate students within the laboratory group and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline by the start date of the appointment. A strong background and hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry or organic electrochemistry are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Demonstrated track record of research productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
