Quality Engineer – Rolla, MO (Job : )
SummaryIntroduce, maintain and improve quality systems to support the research, development, introduction, and manufacture of new products, processes, technologies and the reduction of manufacturing scrap.
Responsibilities- Support implementation of quality systems and collaborate with design, research & development, quality control, and manufacturing engineering teams during development and introduction of new products.
- Ensure customer requirements are incorporated into product functional specifications and lead risk & failure analysis (Design and Process FMEA).
- Ensure all required documentation is in place before initiating production.
- Work with key quality, applications, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues and identify systemic process improvements to reduce material nonconformance, corrective actions, and customer complaints.
- Manage activities and produce data packages for change control and customer notifications.
- Support the effective use of SPC practices to monitor, stabilize, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Assist in implementing best practices for chemical manufacturing.
- Follow guidelines stated in documented quality procedures and standards.
- Support supplier development activities including questionnaire completion, PCS review, non‑conformance management, audits, and other related tasks.
- Collect and analyze data to track and report on quality metrics.
- Conduct post‑batch reviews to ensure quality requirements are met for completed batches.
- Execute quality projects within established deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science) or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Science) and 2+ years of related experience, or
- Master’s degree in a related discipline, or
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Six Sigma certification preferred (Green Belt acceptable).
- Experience executing quality projects through new product development preferred.
- Experience with analytical chemistry equipment preferred.
