Therapist – Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:

Assist physical therapists in providing patient care through therapeutic exercises, mobility support, and treatment administration, ensuring personalized recovery plans are effectively implemented. Collaborate with patients and families to optimize at-home care techniques and maintain a clean, organized therapy environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support physical therapists by assisting with patient exercises and stretching routines.
• Communicate treatment instructions and techniques to patients and their families.
• Monitor and document patient progress, updating care plans as needed.
• Prepare therapy areas and assist with patient transfers from wheelchairs or walkers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and workspace.
• Complete administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in physical therapy, specifically LTC or rehab settings.
• Hold an active PTA license and current BLS certification.
• Possess a valid state license to practice as a PTA in Missouri.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills for patient and family interaction.
• Be capable of assisting with patient mobility and therapeutic exercises.
