The Facilities Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive preventive maintenance programs, coordinating building repairs and service contracts, managing facility-related projects, monitoring building systems, and ensuring City facilities are maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, appearance, and reliability.

This position works closely with other city departments, contractors, vendors, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure municipal facilities meet the operational needs of the City and the community.

The Facilities Manager is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independence in the management of the City Facilities. This position receives general direction and supervision from the Public Works Director, who reviews the results of work for technical correctness.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, public administration, building sciences, or a related field;
or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and progressively responsible experience in facilities management, building maintenance, construction, or a related field.

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, commercial building maintenance, construction, property management, or a related field is preferred.

Previous supervisory, municipal, governmental, or public-sector experience is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing multiple municipal, commercial, institutional, or public facilities.
Experience developing preventive maintenance programs.
Experience managing capital improvement or renovation projects.
Experience with HVAC, building automation, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, or other building systems.
Experience preparing and administering operating and capital budgets.
Experience managing contractors and service agreements.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Construction management or project management experience.
Relevant professional certifications in facilities management, building operations, construction, safety, or project management.
