American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

• Work in the general Emergency Department of a hospital, treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift consisting of three 12-hour shifts, rotating between 1p-1a and 3p-3a
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum of 2 years ER experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• SANE certification preferred, can be completed onsite if needed
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II facilities preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, trauma, respiratory distress, and cardiac events
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, intubation, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Familiarity with emergency medications including IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics
• Neurological emergency skills such as CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury care preferred
• Trauma-related skills including gunshot wound and traumatic amputation management preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Responsible for triage and adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Skilled in orthopedic splinting and management of ortho trauma cases preferred
• Facility is a STEMI Certified center
