Job Description

To perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings and fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures. Perform some semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing/pipe fitting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform basic repair and maintenance of buildings including fixed and moveable equipment and fixtures

* Perform semi-skilled mechanical trades work relating to the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems fixed and moveable equipment, fixtures and units

* Perform semi-skilled building trades work in carpentry, painting, glazing, mason/tuck pointing, plastering, etc.

* Assist various journey-level staff in the completion of diverse tasks. Notify supervisor when repairs and installation tasks that may require advanced are identified

* Assist with cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance records

* Perform other duties as assigned

Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

* High school diploma or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

* Two years of general maintenance experience is required. (Some or all of the two years of experience may be required to be in a specific skill area of concentration; i.e., carpentry, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, etc.)

* Skill in the maintenance and operation of tools, equipment and materials.

* Sufficient strength to perform heavy lifting and work on ladders on an occasional basis.

* A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.

* Depending on the nature of work performed, the incumbent may be required to wear a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as outlined in the "Industrial Standard for Respirator Use".

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $ hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
