Service Electrician

An established Service Electrical company is looking for a Service Electrician to support the Rolla community and surrounding area.

Job Summary:

The Electrician performs electrical installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and service work for both residential and commercial customers. This includes service calls, remodeling projects, and new construction. The role requires proficient use of the Field Edge mobile app for real-time job status updates, thorough documentation with notes and photos, clear communication with customers regarding ETAs and job progress, strict adherence to safety and electrical codes, quality control on all work, proper site cleanup, maintenance of a clean and organized service vehicle, proactive material ordering from electrical suppliers, and planning to minimize unnecessary trips.

The Electrician supports company goals of high customer satisfaction, on-time performance, minimal reworks, and safe operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, panels, outlets, lighting, and equipment in residential and commercial buildings for service calls, remodels, and new construction projects.

• Install conduits, pipes, raceways, and cable trays to house electrical wires and cables, ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local amendments, and company standards.

• Install, connect, and test circuit breakers, panels, switches, outlets, lighting controls, and other electrical hardware; connect systems to power sources as required.

• Perform diagnostics and testing using appropriate meters, tools, and equipment to ensure proper installation, operation, and safety of electrical systems.

• Inspect existing electrical systems to identify issues, needed repairs, or upgrades; replace or repair conduit, wiring, breakers, and fixtures as required.

• Communicate professionally with customers regarding job details, expected arrival times (ETAs), progress updates, and any recommendations or additional work needed.

• Use the Field Edge mobile app to update job status in real time and reflect actual conditions as they occur.

• Document all jobs thoroughly in the Field Edge mobile app with detailed notes, photos of work performed, parts used, and any customer communications or issues encountered.

• Perform quality control on all work performed, ensuring installations meet or exceed code requirements, company standards, and customer expectations before leaving the site.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times; thoroughly clean up debris, packaging, and materials upon completion of work.

• Keep service vehicle/truck clean, organized, and well-maintained; manage inventory of common parts, tools, and materials; report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly.

• Proactively plan material needs for jobs and order materials from electrical suppliers in advance to minimize trips, reduce downtime, and ensure materials are available when needed.

• Coordinate material pickups or deliveries efficiently; maintain accurate truck inventory to avoid unnecessary supplier runs and support job efficiency.

• Strictly follow all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and electrical codes; use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); report hazards or incidents immediately.

• Assist with basic quotes or estimates for service work or small projects when requested, providing accurate information to the office team.

• Issue invoices to the customer using Field Edge and collect payments on site.

• Coordinate with the dispatch/CSR team and Operations Manager on scheduling, job priorities, and any changes or issues encountered in the field.

• Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting both service and project work across residential and commercial sectors.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and installation practices for both residential and commercial applications (service, remodel, and new construction).
