How You'll Make An ImpactThe Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist Senior leads the financial due diligence process for prospective acquisitions, evaluates risks, and participates in pricing, valuation, and the creation of term sheets to support informed, buy‑side decisions.
Responsibilities- Lead comprehensive financial due diligence for potential acquisitions, analysing financial statements, projections, KPIs, and other pertinent data to assess viability and risk.
- Evaluate financial and deal risks, develop mitigation strategies, and collaborate with internal functional teams to align with risk tolerance.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support senior leadership decisions and participate in pricing, valuation, and term sheet preparation.
- Coordinate with legal, operations, and other relevant teams; communicate with key stakeholders such as Regional and Area Presidents, executive leaders, and external advisors.
- Integrate acquisitions into AJG’s centralized accounting and finance processes within established timelines and prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings.
- Track industry trends, implement process improvements, and maintain high-quality documentation for all due diligence activities.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Commercial and economic awareness with understanding of financial markets.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, notably Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, NPV, IRR, etc.).
- Flexibility for travel and occasional overtime.
- Insurance or employee‑benefits industry experience.
- CPA candidacy or certification.
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated, works independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and project‑management skills.
- Comfortable interacting with cross‑functional teams (Compliance, Operations, HR, Technology, etc.).
- Effective at prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
The base salary range reflects the anticipated low and high end of the market. Total compensation will be influenced by education, experience, geography, and skill set. In addition to competitive pay, you’ll receive:
