The City of Rolling Meadows is searching for our next Assistant to the City Manager – a high-impact role where strategy meets action, and where your work directly shapes the community. This is a senior-level position that plays a pivotal role in supporting executive leadership, City Council activities, and organization-wide initiatives. You’ll develop policy recommendations, oversee citywide communications, support economic development deals, manage grants and contracts, and serve as the City’s ombudsman for complex public concerns. You’ll also supervise key staff and collaborate with department leaders across the organization.

Education & Experience Requirements :Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning, public policy, political science, or a related field is required. Master’s degree in public administration or a related field is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time, progressively responsible professional experience in local government in a management analyst, Assistant to the City Manager, or comparable administrative role.
Compensation & Benefits:The hiring range for this position is $91,925 to $120,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience. The maximum authorized salary for this position is $143,104. The salary range is adjusted annually, and employees are considered for raises annually on the basis of performance. A generous benefits package includes participation in the City’s award-winning Unlimited Paid Time Off (UPTO) program, eligibility for 20% regularly scheduled remote work upon successful completion of one-year probationary period, competitive retirement and insurance options, and professional development opportunities.
