Thales Alenia Space is looking for an experienced Business Managed Network (BMN) & Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Operations team in Italy. The role coordinates BMN management at the OPS-IT level, collaborating closely with Business, the Information System, and Cyber teams.
A Business Managed Network (BMN) is an environment used by the business to support projects, ranging from isolated test benches to full production environments, often incorporating remote or hybrid cloud resources.
The European Union’s Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS2) aims to strengthen cybersecurity for essential services and digital infrastructure across the EU. As a satellite manufacturer, TAS is deemed an “essential” entity, so compliance with NIS2 is a strategic priority.
Job Purpose / MissionThe BMN & Cybersecurity Specialist plays a pivotal role in protecting Thales Alenia Space’s information assets and infrastructure by ensuring integrity, availability, and resilience of BMN environments. The mission is to safeguard data, maintain business continuity, and foster a culture of “security by design” across all operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of BMN at the OPS-IT level as a Project, coordinating with BNSR, Information System, and Cyber teams.
- Identify, track, and manage all assets through their lifecycle, applying rigorous asset control and hardening measures.
- Conduct periodic and ad-hoc risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and system hardening reviews.
- Oversee asset derogation processes, ensuring justification, documentation, and remediation or substitution plans.
- Implement and monitor IAM solutions to manage secure access rights across the environment.
- Maintain strict data security and information management standards per regulatory and corporate policies.
- Build, test, and update incident response and disaster recovery plans, ensuring full operability and staff readiness.
- Drive continuous security event monitoring and timely response to detected incidents.
- Foster a robust culture of security awareness across the organization.
- Prepare comprehensive security, compliance, risk, and incident reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Embed Security by Design and privacy by design methodology in all relevant projects and systems.
- Maintain liaison with national authorities for ongoing NIS2 compliance and reporting.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Experienced consulting professional—preferably in aerospace—leading complex programs in regulated environments focused on business value and compliance.
- Proven track record advising aerospace stakeholders on digital transformation and IT modernization.
- Experience in project management, including leading or contributing to transformation projects.
- Exposure to digital evolution initiatives with a strong business-oriented mindset.
- Experience designing and implementing security awareness programs.
- Relevant professional certifications in cybersecurity or information security are preferred.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, asset management, or IT risk management roles.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, or similar).
- Track record managing vulnerability management and incident response processes.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes.
- Knowledge of project management practices and methods applied in security or digital transformation contexts.
- Practical experience with reporting tools, data analysis, and cybersecurity metrics.
- In-depth knowledge of information security principles and technologies.
- Familiarity with asset management systems, hardening techniques, and control frameworks.
- Understanding of security by design and secure software/system development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools and risk management methodologies.
- Business-oriented mindset, able to support and influence digital evolution and transformation initiatives.
- Collaborative approach with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and training skills for security awareness activities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Fluent Italian.
- Good level of English (spoken and written) to interact with Group entities and use Group tools/documentation.
