Position Summary
As the Accounting Assistant for our tractor manufacturing company, you will provide a hands‑on approach for supporting the financial well‑being of our company. You will participate in the day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial transparency within all areas of the accounting department. This position will report to Senior Accounting Manager and will play an essential role in assisting with accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and the achievement of departmental objectives.
This position is based in Rome, GA.
- Accounts Receivable:
Assist with floor plan submissions, record payments, reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with customer invoicing as needed. - Account Payable:
Assist with the processing of invoices, verify vendor documentation, process internal PO requests, vendor contact as needed. - Support accounting management on various accounting projects, including budgeting, tax and regulatory compliance.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger entries, corporate credit card accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Assist with updating shipping status (in‑transit inventory) when related party company sends shipping plans.
- Assist with receiving (goods receipt) of serialized inventory.
- Assist with applying international freight invoices and tariffs to their corresponding inventory related invoices (landed cost).
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, costs, and variances, advising management on financial performance.
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure accuracy of records.
- Completes additional responsibilities in support of the company’s objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- 5+ years in accounting positions within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems; SAP Business 1 is a bonus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Experienced communicator, both written and verbal. Able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to influence decision making.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.
