Interior Designer
Location:
Rome, GA 30161
Pay Range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually
Overview
• An established architecture firm is seeking a talented Interior Designer to support a variety of commercial projects. This role blends creativity and technical expertise, focusing on developing interior design concepts and producing detailed construction documentation in Revit. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, experience with commercial interiors, and the ability to coordinate finishes, furnishings, and space planning from concept through construction.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the interior design function within a collaborative architectural team and make a direct impact on projects throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop interior design concepts that align with project goals, client standards, and brand guidelines
• Produce complete and accurate interior construction documents in Revit, including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and finish plans
• Collaborate with architects and project teams to ensure seamless integration of interior design elements into overall building design
• Select and specify interior finishes, materials, colors, and textures for floors, walls, ceilings, and specialty features
• Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for commercial interior environments
• Design and specify custom and modular cabinetry, millwork, and built-in elements
• Coordinate and specify interior signage and way finding systems
• Prepare finish schedules, furniture plans, specifications, and material cut sheets
• Assist with code compliance, accessibility standards, and material performance requirements
• Participate in space planning, layout development, and interior detailing for commercial projects
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for materials, finishes, and furniture selections
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of professional Interior Design experience supporting commercial projects
• Strong proficiency in Revit for design documentation and construction drawings
• Strong understanding of interior finishes, furnishings, cabinetry, signage, and color selection for commercial interiors
• Experience producing detailed construction documents including finish plans and schedules
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
• 3-5 years of Interior Design experience in a professional architecture or design firm
• Experience supporting healthcare, veterinary, or specialized commercial facilities
• Familiarity with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) specification and procurement processes
• Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors throughout project development
• Interior Design licensure or progress toward licensure
