Job Description

Position Title: School Psychologist

Division/Department: Special Education

Pay Type: Salaried-Exempt

Retirement: TRS

Work Days:210

Reports To: Director of Special Education

Minimum Qualification
  • A valid Georgia Certificate in School Psychology.
  • 3 years of experience in school psychology preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, leadership, time management, competency in professional domains of practice.
Representative

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  • Demonstrates competency in administering a variety of assessment instruments and techniques.
  • Demonstrates understanding of criteria for all areas of eligibility.
  • Assist in the RTI and SST processes by providing research‑based intervention recommendations and appropriate progress monitoring tools.
  • Complete the results of comprehensive psycho‑educational evaluations.
  • Develop reports and interpret the results of psycho‑educational evaluations.
  • Provide crisis intervention support as needed.
  • Demonstrates appropriate consultative skills in parent, teacher and student conferences.
  • Provides presentations/professional learning for local schools and other groups as needs are identified.
  • Knowledgeable about available resources in the school and community.
  • Participates in eligibility determination and program decisions for students with disabilities.
  • Participates in and contributes to professional learning activities provided by the department.
  • Practices in accordance to Federal, State and County regulations and professional ethics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Job Requirements
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
