Job DescriptionThe Pre-K Paraprofessional will work with students in completing educational activities under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
Position Title: (TL1) Pre-K Paraprofessional
Division/Department: Teaching & Learning
Pay Grade: Classified Salary Schedule
Retirement: TRS
Work Days: 190
Reports To: Principal
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC‑accepted accredited institution.
- Completed 2 years (60 semester hours) of college coursework above the remedial level at a GaPSC‑accepted accredited institution with a grade of “C” or better.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Conducts small group or individual classroom activities based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
- Assists with supervision of students.
- Assists with student assessment, grading work, tests and collecting data on student progress.
- Locates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activities.
- Assists with routine record keeping.
- Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
- Assists with classroom housekeeping.
- Assists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
- Assists with school‑wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses.
- Follows all district, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Directs the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times.
- Takes all reasonable measures to protect students' health and safety.
- Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.
- Maintains prompt and professional communication with all stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
