The Automotive teacher provides standards‑based instruction in the area of automotive education. The role includes assessing student progress, managing effective learning environments, and preparing students for career and post‑secondary opportunities. The teacher will develop and deliver a rigorous curriculum, facilitate industry connections, and foster student engagement in career‑related activities.
Responsibilities- Account for student attendance and punctuality.
- Adhere to all state guidelines for program implementation.
- Assess, differentiate, and manage student progress.
- Ensure security and accountability of classroom equipment and supplies.
- Attend school‑level, district‑level, and state‑specific professional learning activities.
- Complete reports, documentation, and other assignments promptly and professionally.
- Comply with state and system‑level regulations and policies.
- Maintain prompt and professional communication with students, parents, colleagues, and leadership.
- Establish industry and post‑secondary connections and promote student participation in continuing education.
- Facilitate a rigorous curriculum with career‑related instruction.
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction.
- Maintain class discipline in lab and classroom settings.
- Maintain professional development competence through ongoing training.
- Provide adequate information, plans, and materials for substitutes.
- Provide a classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Support community‑based instruction and projects.
- Show initiative and assume responsibility for all job aspects.
- Sponsor co‑curricular student organization experiences.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources appropriate for assigned students.
- Current Georgia teaching certificate or equivalent.
- Physical ability to perform routine physical activities required by the job.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Completes and maintains Automotive Education and Industry certification where applicable. Spends a minimum average of 10 hours per month beyond required instructional activities in collaboration with automotive students, and completes additional industry‑related instructional training.

Full‑Time. Salary: $50,000 to $75,000 per year.
