JOB SUMMARY:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION A valid Georgia Educator Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Goal:
Provide instruction; encourage and assess student achievement and progress; and manage the learning environment effectively.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Provides instruction that is appropriate to the standards of the courses being taught. Exhibits professionalism in all job-related situations; follows professional ethics in all work related activities; presents a personal appearance which enhances the image of the school. Assumes a fair share of outside-the-classroom school responsibilities. Adheres to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner;
demonstrates loyalty to the school and its leadership; avoids behavior which detracts from staff morale; works cooperatively with colleagues and the community; helps maintain a positive, cooperative climate. Promotes a positive school environment that enhances student learning. Maintains plans according to policies and/or directives. Promotes the responsible use of materials and equipment. Submits accurate paperwork on schedule. Maintains required work schedules in a punctual manner;
demonstrates responsible attendance and use of leave. Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent. Accounts for student attendance and punctuality. Follows all district, state and federal policies and procedures. Directs the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times. Takes all reasonable measures to protect students' health and safety. Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.
Maintains prompt and professional communication with all stakeholders. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator. Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent.
