The work of this position involves assisting the City Engineer in the planning and performance of engineering tasks.
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and practices of interpreting engineering drawings and maps.
- Knowledge of advanced mathematical computations (i.e., algebra, geometry, and trigonometry).
- Skills in using a computer with CADD and GIS Software.
- Skill in locating information concerning surveys, plats, and easements, and in reading/interpreting engineering specifications.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Skill in driving motor vehicles.
- High School diploma or GED supplemented by college level coursework in computer aided drafting, engineering, surveying, or related field.
- Two years experience in engineering technical support which has provided a familiarity with engineering drafting, surveying, map checking, and basic engineering.
- Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within three (3) months of employment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license from state of residency.
