Position Overview

• Conduct complex criminal investigations targeting narcotics and drug‑related activities.
• Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and deliver briefings to senior personnel and other federal, state, and local agencies.
• Identify and apprehend drug traffickers and individuals engaged in criminal drug activities.
• Gather and analyze evidence through investigative leads, seizures, arrests, execution of search warrants, and other means.
• Testify on behalf of the federal government in court or before grand juries.

Basic qualifications for GL‑07, GL‑09, or GL‑11 levels (depending on the specific grade selected):

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the required grade level, including:
• Assisting in investigations of alleged or suspected violations of law;
• Collecting and analyzing investigative data;
• Writing reports and conducting briefings;
• Assisting prosecuting attorneys or testifying in court.
• Or, educational equivalence: graduate‑level education or superior academic achievement (SAA) as described in OPM guidelines.

Additional qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Mobility agreement for relocation.
• Pass medical clearance and polygraph exam.
• Age 21–36 (dependent on veteran status).
• Registration with Selective Service (for eligible males).
• Completion of required physical, medical, and training requirements.

• Must obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Sign a mobility agreement for relocation.
• Undergo a pre‑employment medical and polygraph examination.
• Serve a 1‑ or 2‑year trial period with eligibility for clarification of continued employment.
• Maintain a valid state driver’s license and be subject to random drug testing.
• Must possess firearms qualification and comply with the Lautenberg Amendment.
