Job Description:Work Schedule:
Mon-Fri 6:30AM-5:30PM (PRN)
- Ensures accurate patient registration and insurance verification
, collecting complete demographic and insurance information to prevent duplicate records and billing issues. - Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations within established time frames, coordinating with utilization management as needed.
- Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) when required.
- Calculates patient financial responsibility, collects payments, and establishes payment plans
, including accurate cashiering and reconciliation. - Provides excellent customer service and cross-department communication
, documenting all patient and payer interactions to support a seamless patient experience.
- Initial Patient Intake: Greet patients professionally, provide new patient forms, and obtain essential demographic information to ensure accurate patient files.
- Insurance Verification & Authorization: Confirm active insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits for every visit. This includes obtaining necessary pre-authorizations or referrals, especially for specialized treatments like wound care.
- Financial Counseling & Collections: Explain financial policies, copayments, and deductibles to patients. Responsibilities include collecting payments at the point of service and balancing daily cash flow.
- Appointment Management: Schedule and confirm recurring therapy sessions based on provider availability, while also managing cancellations and waitlists to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Medical Record Integrity: Accurately input and update data in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to support both clinical care and billing functions.
- Compliance & Privacy: Protect patient confidentiality by adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and ensuring all admission documentation, such as treatment authorizations, is complete.
- Clinical Support Coordination: Collaborate with medical staff to communicate important patient details and ensure that physician orders for services are valid and compliant with guidelines.
