Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Chemical Production)
Pay Rate Starting: $25.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.
Position SummaryThe Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment within a chemical production facility. This role supports safe and efficient plant operations by addressing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chemical processing equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, control panels, sensors, and PLC components
- Program, troubleshoot, and adjust Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Maintain and repair pumps, mixers, conveyors, and automated production equipment
- Perform plumbing repairs related to chemical lines, water systems, compressed air, and process piping
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), and blueprints
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, including proper PPE usage - Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of electro‑mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or industrial production environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (120V–480V)
- Experience programming and troubleshooting VFDs
- Working knowledge of plumbing and industrial piping systems
- Experience with pumps, motors, and process equipment
- Ability to safely work in a chemical production environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in industrial conditions
- Comfortable working around chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures
