The Mission Coordinator supports the ministries of Rome First United Methodist Church by designing and executing diverse and creative opportunities for outreach and mission. This is a part-time position working 7-10 hours a week.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESExhibit a mature faith in Jesus Christ. A mature disciple is one who fulfills the membership vows of The United Methodist Church (specifically the vows pertaining to prayers, presence, service and witness) and exhibits the fruits of the spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23.
Work with clergy, staff, and church leaders to create and sustain support for mission and justice ministries, building healthy relationships with the congregation and community mission partners.
Recruit, train, equip, and encourage people serving in mission and justice activities.
Seek out opportunities for educational and transformational service activities.
Ensure that church policies are followed in all areas, including Safe Sanctuaries, communications, finances, budgeting, calendar and space use reservations.
Manage other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSPossess an understanding of and commitment to Wesleyan theology.
- Be a great team player, understanding the importance of working together and developing trust within and between groups.
- Be passionate about ministries of service and justice.
- Have the ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers and volunteer teams.
- Possess strong administrative, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communicate skills.
