Position: Behavioral Health Full-Time NP/PA

Position Overview

Atrium Health Floyd, part of Advocate Health, is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Psychiatry to join our growing outpatient Behavioral Health practice in Rome, Georgia. This role offers the opportunity to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered psychiatric care while working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving the mental health and well‑being of our communities.

Responsibilities

The selected provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and other mood and thought disorders.

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence‑based practices.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Document patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions accurately within the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and available community resources.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality initiatives, and program development activities.
  • Advocate for patients and support access to behavioral health services throughout the community.
Position Details
  • Outpatient Behavioral Health
  • Full‑time opportunity
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • 36 patient contact hours weekly
  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or call responsibilities
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary care team
  • Opportunities to participate in educational and quality improvement initiatives
  • CME allowance of $2,500 plus 40 hours annually
  • Eligible for performance incentive bonuses up to 5 %

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current Georgia license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration required
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Nurse Practitioner Candidates
  • Master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited program
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) required
Physician Assistant Candidates
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Psychiatry or Behavioral Health experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of Psychiatry or Behavioral Health experience
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, high‑quality patient care
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base compensation within the listed pay range ($47.50 – $71.25/hr) based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training
