Position: LPN Supervisor - FT Day

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in organizing and directing day‑to‑day functions of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients as requested.
  • Prepare documentation and bill for supplies used.
  • Follow procedures if unable to reach a physician.
  • Develop working assignments for unlicensed personnel.
  • Make compliance rounds and report any pertinent issues.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with attending physicians.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services to coordinate the care planning / MDS process and committee meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in patient screening and selection process as requested.
  • Monitor physician services (documentation and visits) in accordance with current regulations.
  • Follow up on consultant recommendations (pharmacy, dietary, etc.).
  • Provide demonstration / education to LPNs and unlicensed staff.
  • Complete documentation procedures on patients (use of forms, timelines, Medicare documentation).
  • Communicate with physicians, arrange transportation for doctor appointments, and contact families.
  • Demonstrate supervisory skills with fair and uniformly applied corrective actions.
  • Provide reports/documentation to support departmental updates and corrective actions.
  • Assist in interviewing, screening, and selecting associates according to staffing budgets.
  • Maintain personnel file documentation (reference checks, screenings, evaluations, skills verification).
  • Review and respond to complaints or grievances concerning the department.
  • Establish effective inter‑departmental communication to provide positive working relationships.
  • Monitor LPNs and unlicensed nursing staff for compliance with procedural guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of licensure standards and survey process.
  • Monitor work of other nursing staff in unit for thoroughness.
  • Make rounds to provide proper care and cleanliness of patients.
  • Coordinate care of patients.
  • Assist nursing staff members as needed.
  • Implement Education Program, Infection Control Program, and/ or Quality Assurance Program.
  • Promote the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership.
  • Contribute to committees, work groups, project management, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to ensure success of the System.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Warm, friendly greeting and approachable attitude; respond to concerns professionally.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or completion of an approved LPN program.
  • Active LPN license to practice in the State of Georgia.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide oversight and direction to unlicensed nursing personnel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram format.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER APPLICATION SKILLS
  • Use of standard office applications (not specified).
