Travel Stepdown RN – Fusion Medical Staffing – Rome, Georgia

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rome, Georgia.

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient‑centered care.

• Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians regarding cardiac status and response to interventions.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
• Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
• Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.

• Physical Abilities: must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
