The Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN will play a vital role in supporting our medical providers through clinical coordination, medication management, patient care, and administrative nursing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with daily clinical operations.
- Coordinate patient scheduling for medical and psychiatric appointments.
- Perform and document patient vital signs.
- Collect and process urine drug screens.
- Assist with medication ordering, medication refills, prior authorizations, and medication reconciliation.
- Monitor medication inventory and communicate medication-related concerns to providers.
- Assist patients with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term Disability (STD), and other medical paperwork.
- Coordinate laboratory orders and communicate results to providers when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond to patient questions and coordinate follow-up care.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, primary care, or outpatient settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with medication management and refill requests.
- Familiarity with urine drug screening protocols.
- Knowledge of controlled substance regulations.
- Experience assisting with disability and FMLA paperwork.
