Job Summary

Is responsible for understanding, supporting, and carrying out the college's mission, vision, and values while complying with government and accrediting mandates.

Provides support for institutional research functions including capturing, analyzing, and interpreting data on faculty, students, staff and other critical information for leadership decision‑making and internal and external uses.

May be called upon to suggest analyses, write documents or document sections, present data analyses, and track specific projects, providing data uploads or survey support.

Contributes to extending self‑service capacities and data visualisation options for institutional and project leaders and to developing and documenting shared data practices for consistency.

Uses data to provide analysis for a variety of units across the college.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data, and provide research support for internal and external institutional data requests and projects, including federal and state reporting, using quantitative and statistical procedures; verify data accuracy by comparing institutional data against external sources such as IPEDS and USG data warehouse.
  • Lead and manage a variety of data projects across the institution.
  • Provide data uploads, survey support, and analytics processes for specific projects, coordinating with other Institutional Research units in the University System of Georgia as needed; contribute to design of shared data elements and practices to promote comparable project outcomes; attend meetings as needed; write data‑related sections of reports.
  • Use relational databases and other applications to provide data needed for operational reporting, ensuring data are appropriately captured, coded, and maintained, including performing regular data audits and quality control checks.
  • Provide basic end‑user support for the institution's data analytics and data gathering systems.
  • Assist in developing data visuals, survey analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Assist in the production of infographics and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development activities, campus meetings, and serve on committees as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge and level of competency typically associated with a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience with data/statistical analysis and spreadsheets.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working with the Banner system (preferred).
  • Experience with relational databases, web development, desktop publishing, and presentation software, especially in a higher education setting.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Experience in collecting, editing, verifying, analysing, interpreting, and reporting data, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Analytical skills to develop research that contributes to policy analysis and institutional decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, University System of Georgia, and Board of Regents policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated use of database management systems (BANNER).
  • Skill in using computer software tools important to institutional research, such as data warehouses, presentation software, data modelling software, integrated databases, data mining software, statistical packages, and data visualisation and business intelligence applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects while working collaboratively and/or independently.
  • Ability to acquire increasing knowledge of current trends and solutions related to data scripting, reporting, and business analytics.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
Proposed Salary

$65,478 annually
