Local Driver

The Local CDL Driver ensures the safe and timely transportation of goods between designated locations. This position requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B as required for the vehicle operated.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations applicable to commercial driving.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles in a local delivery environment.

• Previous experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic cargo handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with clients during deliveries.
• Additional endorsements on CDL such as Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples.
• Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.

• Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently on local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and electronic records in compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.

• Drivers use their knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations daily to maintain compliance and avoid incidents.
• Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with dispatch and customers, resolving delivery issues, and providing excellent service.
• Preferred skills such as familiarity with electronic logging devices and warehouse equipment enhance efficiency and accuracy in record-keeping and cargo handling.
• Additionally, strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability help drivers manage unexpected challenges on the road or during deliveries.
