About
The Role As a Legal Assistant you will provide essential administrative and operational support within Abion’s Brand & Legal Department. This role is the foundation of the department’s efficiency, ensuring that documents, deadlines, and case-related data are handled accurately and on time.
You will work closely with Paralegals and Attorneys, assisting in the preparation of documents, correspondence, and filings while learning the fundamentals of intellectual property (IP) administration.
The Legal Assistant role serves as the starting point of the Brand & Legal career path. The position offers opportunities for learning and professional growth through on-the-job experience, internal training, and exposure to IP and trademark processes.
Key Responsibilities Including, but not limited to:
Providing day-to-day administrative assistance in managing IP and trademark cases.
Maintaining accurate records of case materials, correspondence, and deadlines in Abion’s internal systems.
Support Paralegals and Attorneys in coordinating case activities, including preparing filing forms, correspondence with clients and agents, and tracking deadlines.
Communication with colleagues across the department, as well as with external agents and authorities when appropriate.
Assisting in tracking time spent on cases, recording hours, and preparing billing data for review.
Handling sensitive client and case information is a key responsibility, ensuring strict confidentiality, discretion, and adherence to Abion’s ethical and data protection standards at all times.
What We're Looking For Proficiency in digital tools (Microsoft Office, document management systems, etc.)
Previous experience of working in a administratively heavy role where they have been supporting others with a service.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage)
Interest in intellectual property, trademarks, and legal administration
Willingness to learn internal systems
Service-minded and collaborative attitude with a professional approach
High level of accuracy and discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work reliably under supervision
Proactive and curious mindset, eager to grow within the Brand & Legal Department
The position requires a strong eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude toward supporting colleagues and contributing to high-quality client service.
